Talk of Zimbabwe local drama series, then one can not conclude without mentioning the popular drama series 'Gringo Ndiani', which featured Lazarus Boora (Gringo) who locked two interesting characters, Madhumbe and Firimoni, in his boss' bedroom.
Madhumbe, a prominent figure in the late 1990s local drama Gringo Ndiani, is now pursuing music in Canada. Born Memory Makuri, the young and energetic lady whose role was a maid at the house, tried to convince Gringo (Lazarus Boora), who acted as garden boy, to let them out of the house, but her efforts were fruitless until Gweshegweshe, the boss, arrived and Madhumbe was fired.
While she was acting in the drama, her mind was set for greater heights, she relocated to Canada when the drama series came to an end, thanks to her exceptional networking skills.
"The links that I created through my acting career back home have taken me this far. I am not acting at the moment because I am working with a number of music groups including Nhapitapi Mbira as a vocalist. God lifted me from the mire. My journey from primary school to my current position was a miraculous one because I did not know I would make it this far through acting," said Madhumbe.
Madhumbe, who was born on 24 December 1973 in Harare. She did her primary education at Rugare Primary School and secondary shcool at Kambuzuma High 2. Upon completing Secondary education, Madhumbe managed to link up with Enock Chihombori, the script writer of the Gringo series. Chihombori also featured in the same Drama acting as Tobbie Mamvura.
"I enjoyed working with all the Gringo ndiani cast. It was so exciting and I'm glad I was linked to Enock Chihombori who gave me the nod to take part in the Drama series," she said.
Madhumbe said she is still in her preliminary stages of furthering her studies in Canada.
"There are a number of courses that I want to pursue, but I have not yet decided what should come first. I will inform you when I'm done with my contemplating," said the happily married Madhumbe, who has since been blessed with one child.
