Another Warren Park mum burns son's hands on red hot stove after misusing $1 on chips

Another heartless mother from Warren Part D will perform 210 hours of community service after she burnt her son with hot steel before forcing him to touch a RED HOT ELECTRIC STOVE for misusing extra lessons money (US$1).

Verona Juru (26) allegedly gave her son US$1 for extra lessons but he decided to bunk lessons and spoil himself with fresh chips instead. Angered by the misuse of her hard-earned One dollar, the woman allegedly tortured her son by burning parts of his body with hot steel. As if that was not enough, she went on to force him touch a red hot electric stove.

Juru admitted that she became angry after her son bought fresh chips with $1 that was meant for extra lessons. She lighted a paraffin stove then placed a wire until it got red hot and burnt the boy on his stomach. She then placed the boy's hands on the electric stove. As a result, the boy sustained serious injuries, but Juru was not moved and never bothered to take the boy to hospital.

A tip-off was however made to the police leading to her arrest and subsequently appeared before Harare magistrate Don Ndirowei. She was initially sentenced to six months improsnment before they were wholly suspended on condition that she completes a 210-hour community service stint.
