THE police have appealed to members of the public to come forward and assist in the identification of a human head that was found on Christmas Day at the centre of a road in Kutama in Mashonaland West Province.

In a statement, national police spokesperson Chief Superintendent Paul Nyathi said the human head which had been partially ravished was found lying on the centre of Mabvure-Masiyarwa dust road.

"Police are appealing to the public to assist with information which may lead to the identification and establish leads in a case where a human head comprising right cheek, half chin, right eye, full nose, right upper and lower jaw, and protruding tongue was found lying at the centre of Mabvure-Masiyarwa dust road in Kutama on 25 December," said Chief Sup Nyathi.

The police spokesperson said anyone with information about the head could contact their nearest police station or the National Complaints Desk on telephone number (04) 703631.
