Spirit Embassy Ministries founder, Prophet Uebert Angel-Mudzanire has stepped down as the President of Spirit Embassy Church with immediate effect.
Angel, who has reportedly not set foot in Zimbabwe for over three months now issued a statement announcing his imminent 'voluntary resignation'. Mystery however still surrounds his absence in Zimbabwe. The 36-year-old miracle money 'inventor' claimed that he is on a prayer retreat which will last for five months and therefore his wife should take over their 'church business'.
There were also claims that certain politicians approached Zimbabwe's senior prophets and instructed them to denounce opposition leader Morgan Tsvangirai's planned street demonstrations. It is alleged that Prophet Makandiwa and Prophet Magaya obeyed but Prophet Angel refused.
Angel's '5-month prayer retreat' claim however in not in line with his Ghanaian checkmate who is heading a delegation in Ghana that is bend on pulling both Angel and his 'partner-in-crime' Prophet Emmanuel Makandiwa down. Last month he came all the way from UK and had a crusade in Zambia but could not set foot in Zimbabwe. As if that was not enough, two weeks ago Spirit Embassy had another crusade in Harare where Prophet Makandiwa and the church's 'spiritual grandfather' Prophet Victor Kusi Boateng came all the way from Ghana to grace the occasion but Angel was nowhere to bee seen.
Pastor Lawrence Ajoba reportedly told a Zimbabwean News website, The Telescope News that Angel is in hot soup with President Mugabe and senior government officials. The Ghanaian pastor also claimed that Prophet Angel – who has previously bragged for marrying the most beautiful woman – allegedly impregnated a young woman and dumped her in Germany in a bid to conceal the act, the pastor alleged.
A day after the shocking news where published by several media houses, Prophet Angel took to his Twitter account to announce his stepping down development.
"@Prbeverlyangel will be taking over as the New Spirit Embassy President as I take out to do a 5-month prayer retreat" said Prophet Angel who claimed to have raised over 28 people from the death.
After My Zimbabwe News published the article which was first written by the Telescope News, followers of Prophet Makandiwa and Prophet Angel came out guns blazing, accusing My Zimbabwe News of being evil. In the forefront was Calvin Banda, 22 year old lad and Prophet Makandiwa's bootlicker who posted over 30 comments attacking anyone who expressed any feeling of not having faith in his 'Papa'.
Calvin had so much time that he would interchangeably log on to My Zimbabwe News as The Seer or Joe in a bid to make it appear as if so many people were defending the prophet.
