United Family International Church founder, Prophet Emmanuel Makandiwa on Sunday prophesied conspiracies to tarnish his image by one of his pastors whom he said he would soon suspend.

"This pastor would be suspended in the same manner that Pastor Makandiwa (Prophet Makandiwa's young brother) has been punished," said Prophet Makandiwa without disclosing the name.

Makandiwa made the claims during the Sunday main church service where he said the pastor was going to claim he (Makandiwa) possessed supernatural powers and practiced Satanism to perform miracles.

However, information filtering through the waves alleges that Prophet Makandiwa suspended his youth brother Pastor Tawanda Makandiwa and one Pastor Kwaramba Tembo. At the time of going to press it could not clearly be ascertained whether Pastor Kwaramba Tembo is the one Prophet Makandiwa was referring to or he is yet to suspend another Pastor as well - if his prophecy is to come true.

"I have not prophesied on some of you, but do not think that I am not aware of what you are doing. I cannot spend two seconds with you and fail to decode every detail about your life. Whenever I choose to keep my silence, be careful because God Himself will be taking the measure against your sins," Makandiwa said.

Meanwhile, in September last year, a self-proclaimed spirit medium was manhandled by eight bouncers during a service at United Family International Church's premises in Chitungwiza after challenging Prophet Emmanuel Makandiwa to a demonstration of power before the congregation.

The man, Sekuru Lovemore Chiponda who says he is a medium for the spirit of Chaminuka, says he had his traditional regalia and nine Digital Video Discs burnt after the altercation. Sekuru Chiponda says he went to the church to confront Prophet Makandiwa to reveal the source of his power.

"I had gone to challenge him (Prophet Makandiwa) for a demonstration of power so that people in Zimbabwe become aware that there is nobody who operates on a spiritual level without his ancestral spirit," Sekuru Chiponda said.

It looks like there would be some fireworks if indeed one of UFI Pastors claims that Prophet Makandiwa uses satanic powers to perform miracles, since a number of people, both African culture leaders and Christian Pastors, have already openly claimed that the so influential and popular prophet is 'backed up' by non-Godly powers.

After Prophet Angel reportedly produced miracle money, Bishop of Life and Liberty Churches International, Noah Pashapa said there was need for people to discern and test miracle acts thoroughly as did Jesus when he healed the 10 lepers whom he directed to the priests to check whether they had been healed.

Bishop Pashapa said miracles come in various forms which could be MAGICAL, SATANIC, cultic or shamanic as in the case of Pharoah's magicians who matches Moses' miracles almost pound for pound.

One 'Mai Praise', a reportedly mentally challenged woman who astonishingly could accurately 'prophesy' and perform various miracles in Mbare was one of the first people to claim that Prophet Makandiwa is a false prophet.

Pastor Godwin Chitsinde, the leader of a Harare-based church, the Spoken Word Ministries, two weeks ago said Prophet Makandiwa and Prophet Angel were only after money. The man of God attacked celebrated prophets Emmanuel Makandiwa and Uebert Angel branding them cheats who are playing "Nigerian games" with their followers.

Pastor Chitsinde threatened to expose what he termed a "new wave of prosperity gospel preachers" if Makandiwa and Angel dared to sue him over his remarks.

Almost all pastors and Christians who accuse Prophet Makandiwa of using satanic powers to perform miracles are fully armed with Biblical scriptures such as 2 Thessalonians 2 verse 9 to 12 which reads:

"The arrival of the lawless one will be by Satan's working with all kinds of miracles and signs and false wonders and with every kind of evil deception directed against those who are perishing, because they found no place in their hearts for the truth so as to be saved.  Consequently God sends on them a deluding influence so that they will believe what is false. And so all of them who have not believed the truth but have delighted in evil will be condemned." - My Zimbabwe
