A 36–YEAR–OLD man from Majuwe, Gwelutshena in Nkayi, Matabeleland North ran for dear life with a condom on after allegedly being caught bonking his neighbour's wife.
Ndodana Nyoni had to take to his heels while the condom was on after being caught planting himself in between the thighs of Sithembinkosi Mhlanga by her husband, Owen Mpofu last Sunday.
It is the State's case that Mhlanga left home at around 9am on 26 July to cut thatching grass near Gwelutshena River.
But her suspicious husband decided to follow her.
"He got the shock of his life when he saw his wife heading straight to Ndodana who was standing under a tree. After that the pair went to a bushy area which is about a few metres from the river," the court heard.
The two kissed not knowing that they were being watched by Mpofu. After a few minutes the pair started to have sex.
Mpofu could not stand that anymore and shouted.
On hearing the sound, Nyoni checked and saw Mpofu. He then fled and left Mhlanga at the "mercy" of her husband who pummelled her with open hands and took her to the police.
In a bid to save her marriage, she claimed that she had been raped and filed a rape charge.
Police launched a manhunt and caught Nyoni at his homestead. Police questioned him and he revealed that he was in love with the woman.
When the woman was questioned by the police she admitted that they were in love. As a result she was charged with deliberately supplying false information to a public authority.
She appeared before magistrate on circuit, Mr Stephen Ndlovu and pleaded guilty.
"Your Worship I am sorry for what I did and I don't know what got into my mind," she said.
Nyoni took to the stand and spoke about their affair.
"Your Worship I have been in love with her for almost a year and I have love messages in my phone to prove that we are in love."
The woman was remanded in custody to 5 August for sentencing.
