A GRADE three pupil at Premier Central Primary school in Mutasa, Manicaland was recently sent to probation after he allegedly raped two of his schoolmates.
Manicaland provincial police spokesperson, Assistant Inspector Luxon Chananda, confirmed the incident. Chananda said, on the day in question, the boy (who cannot be named because of his age) lured the little girls aged eight and five to a nearby bush during break time.
Once they found a secluded area, the boy allegedly raped the girls once after which they returned to school.
Police said on a separate occasion, the boy reportedly took the girls to the same place and raped them again.
The case came to light after the eight year-old girl informed her grandmother.
"The girls were taken to Mutare General Hospital by their grandmother where (the rape) was confirmed," said Chananda.
He urged parents to teach their children to report such cases in order for police.
