All is now set for the renaming of Harare International Airport to Robert Gabriel Mugabe International Airport tomorrow (Thursday) with the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructural Development calling on all progressive Zimbabweans to throng the venue to witness this historic event.

The Minister of Transport and Infrastructural Development Dr Joram Gumbo accompanied by Air Zimbabwe Chief Operations Officer Captain Simba Chikore and Civil Aviation Authority of Zimbabwe officials toured the venue to inspect progress made ahead of the historic renaming of Harare's main airport.

Captain Chikore described the changing of the airport's name to Robert Gabriel Mugabe International Airport as a new era which will mark the transformation of the airport into world class.

Minister Gumbo says the 9th of November 2017 will go down into history as a special day to honour President Mugabe for the crucial pan-African role he played to liberate and empower the people and all world aviation partners have already been informed of the change of name.
