Most Zimbabweans have, of late, been so desperate and eager for Devine intervention, that any Pastor or Prophet who proves to be performing wonders and signs will be followed by many people. A lot of Zimbabweans have traveled all the way to other African Countries such as Nigeria and South Africa to have a miracle session with well known "Men of God" such as Prophet T B Joshua of The Synagogue Church of All Nations and Pastor Chris of Christ Embassy.
While others will prefer to go to other nations, a great multitude have deemed it fit and economic to sought remedy for their spiritual needs through locally based prophets such as Prophet Emmanuel Makandiwa and his close buddy Prophet Uebert Angel. The two have organised a Conference under the theme "Breaking the Cycle of Negativities", that's currently running. Sources close to both Prophet E Makandiwa and
Prophet Uebert Angel have said Prophet Victor Kusi Boateng of Power Chapel Worldwide Ministries is the Spiritual Father to both Prophet Makandiwa and Prophet Angel. While Prophet Makandiwa does not hide this fact, Prophet Angel has not been so free to shed more light and confirm this report. My Zimbabwe has a number of photos where these three prophets have been together, which to some extent would support these reports.
Ever since Prophet Makandiwa and eventually Prophet Uebert Angel have become so popular in Zimbabwe, a great number of other self-acclaimed prophets have also emanated.
A 22-year-old Prophet Passion Java, who simply calls himself Prophet Passion. Prophet Passion said in an interview with The Sunday Mail that he has the ability to know one's national identification numbers. While this might seem bizarre to some, it is now a common occurrence, not only at Prophet Passion's sermons but at those of many others.
"I was born with a special gift,When I was very young, I used to have strange dreams depicting me in heaven and surrounded by angels." said Prophet Passion.
Prophet Passion can predict and foretell your past and your future. He is a prophet of Tebanacle of Grace Ministries, a pentecostal church founded by his brother, Apostle B Java, whose also in his 20s.
Meanwhile, President Robert Mugabe has recently urged Zimbabweans to be wary of false prophets and fake traditional healers who are swindling people of their hard-earned cash on the pretext that they will bring them fortunes.
Speaking at the burial of retired general Solomon Mujuru, who died in a mysterious fire at his farm last Monday night, President Mugabe said Zimbabwe is now flooded with people who claim to hold powers of prophecy and spiritual healing.
"We now have many of pastors claiming that they can do prophesy. They have so many dreams about me. I, however, pretend to listen to them when they tell me about these dreams, but deep down I know they are liars," he (President Robert Mugabe) said amid applause and laughter from the thousands of mourners.
Most of the Christians who are not members of the "prophetic ministries" such as United Interdenominational Family Church (U.F.I.C) of Prophet Makandiwa and Spirit Embassy Church of Prophet Angel are so skeptic about these prophets, and have a lot of doubts about source of their power.
The My Zimbabwe team has had a chance to visit one of the Tuesday evening services at City Sports Centre where Prophet Makandiwa ministers, and we have seen him prophesying about people's HIV status, this he did to about 3 different people, and he also prophesied about a young teenage boy who had recently dreamed of bees stinging his waist. All these people confirmed that the Man of God's prophecies were true and precise.
Just a few metres away from City Sports Centre where UFIC members worship, right inside Rainbow Towers, Hundreds of worshippers are also flooding the massive Harare International Conference Centre (HICC) main auditorium in preparation for an afternoon church service. They desperately jostle for prime seats near the pulpit. Outside the venue, in typical Hollywood movie style, dozens of security personnel disembark from numerous top-of-the-range escort vehicles. A team of young men and women dressed in designer suits, clutching Bibles, the latest laptop brands and cellular phones emerge from the vehicles. They are quickly whisked into the building while smothered between the sharp-looking body guards. "Sunday services at Spirit Embassy are pregnant with pomp and splendor".
Prophet Angel commands a network of followers who throng his weekly services. Prophet Angel is a charismatic young minister who founded the church in 2007 while living in Manchester, England. He relocated to Zimbabwe in March this year, where he came to launch the head quarters of his church. Prophet Angel's church services have won rave reviews, thanks to his amazing miracle works where he is said to call out people's names, addresses and even their thoughts and predict future events in their lives with striking accuracy.
"Rumour has it that church members are not allowed to look into him straight into the eye," said Marvellous Chisamba, a member of the rival New Life Covenant Church, which shares the same premise with Spirit Embassy at the HICC.
Others claim that his prophecies and miracles are either stage-managed or anchored on some hidden ungodly spirits. Responding to concerns raised by some sections of society while ministering at an Intimacy Conference held in Harare earlier this year, Prophet Angel rebuffed the allegations.
"I use the power of the Holy Spirit to help the needy and critics of his work are just doubting Thomases and are free to make their own assessments," he said.
While Prophet TB Joshua is alleged to have prophesied that soon Joina Centre in Harare is going to collapse and many people will lose their lives, the internationally recognized Prophet has just been seen by most Zimbabweans on his Satellite Television, Emmanuel TV, while Prophet Victor Kusi Boateng of Power Chapel (Ghana) has visited Zimbabwe about twice now, First time in November 2010 and secondly last week, (October 2011). He (Prophet Boateng) is currently in the country where he is the guest speaker for the conference that being co-hosted by Prophet Makandiwa and Prophet Angel.
Prophet Boateng launched in Ministry in June 2000, in Kumasi, Ghana. He is married to Mrs Anita Kusi Boateng. He is also the CEO of an NGO that he founded in Ghana called Home of Destiny whose objective is to look after orphans, widows and the less privileged. He is well known in Ghana for his prophecies, and is reported precisely prophecy one's full name, place of residence and other personal life information.
Archbishop Nicholas Duncan Williams from Ghana, who has so far divorced twice and has married three times, is the founder of Action Faith Ministries International. He is the Spiritual father to Prophet Victor Boateng. Unconfirmed sources claim that both ArchBishop Nocholas Duncan Williams and Prophet Boateng's favourite gospel is the message of prosperity and success. |
