POLICE in Battlefields arrested two people who tried to disarm police officers who wanted to arrest them for illegal possession of weapons.
The duo attempted to disarm police officers resulting in an accidental discharge and the injury of one of the suspects.
“Police in Battlefields were involved in a scuffle with two suspects, Esphat Sakala (22) and Nobert Muchenje (32) who had been arrested for unlawful possession of an axe and a machete,” said police.
The ZRP urges the public to cooperate with police officers carrying out their constitutional mandate across the country.
