A man from Bulawayo’s Makokoba suburb who refused to accept that he was dumped has been arrested for allegedly assaulting his ex-girlfriend after she had turned down his request to entertain him at her house.
Bruce Ndlovu (35) had a brush with the law after he couldn’t fathom the idea that his ex-lover Ntombenhle Ncube from Vulindlela Flats in Makokoba suburb had refused to accommodate him at her house.
Allegations against Ndlovu are that on 21 August 2022 and at around 2am he went to his ex-lover’s house and found her preparing to go to a funeral in Mzilikazi suburb.
Ndlovu reportedly begged her not to go saying she was to entertain him at her house. Ntombenhle refused to bow down to Ndlovu’s plea to stop her from going to the funeral and accommodate him at her place.
Her refusal did not go down well with Ndlovu leading to a misunderstanding between the two parties.
It is alleged that at the height of the misunderstanding Ndlovu lost his temper and brutally assaulted Ntombenhle all over the body with fists.
As if that was not enough, he went on to kick her with booted feet all over the body several times. As a result of the thorough beating, Ntombenhle sustained injuries all over the body and was referred to hospital for medication.
The matter was reported to the police leading to Ndlovu’s arrest.
For the offence Ndlovu was dragged before the court charged with physical abuse as defined Section 3 (1) (a) as read with Section 4 of the Domestic Violence Act Chapter 5:16.
He was not formally charged and was remanded in custody to September 6.
