Mzimba cops in Malawi have arrested a 100-year-old madala after he was found in possession of dagga.
Malawi 24 reports that the madala was arrested on Wednesday, 31 August, at his home in Manyamula in the district.
The publication reports that the police were conducting a raid in the area when they received a tip-off about a man who had illicit drugs at his house.
“Police conducted a search at his house, and found two pails full of cannabis sativa. The elderly man was arrested on the spot and brought to Mzimba Police Station, where a case of possession of cannabis sativa without a permit has been opened,” the article read.
The madala is expected to appear before court soon to answer the charge levelled against him.
