A WOMAN, who had accused her husband of physical abuse, lost her bid for a protection order at the Harare Civil Court.

Rutendo Nhamaka had alleged that Luckmore Chihwayi insults and assaults her, together with her children, whenever he is drunk.

She also accused him of walking around the house naked in the presence of his daughters.

“My husband assaulted me and my children.

“I am in need of the court’s help to change his ways because it is affecting the children.

“He also has a tendency of walking around the house in his underwear with children around,” said Rutendo.

In his response, Luckmore denied the accusations and accused Rutendo of having an extramarital affair.

“I saw messages in her phone that said our last born was not my child.

“At one point I wanted out of the marriage.

“But, because my mother died when I was young, and I was abused by my stepmother, I decided I could not leave my children with her.

“To this day, my family doesn’t know that our last born is not mine,” Luckmore said.

Magistrate Rutendo Machingura dismissed the application due to lack of merit.
