AFTER being arrested for allegedly killing his sugar mama in 2013, Ncedisa Qolweni managed to escape the cops twice.
However, his luck ran out last week and he was traced to the Eastern Cape and arrested.
Police spokesman Captain Bernard Matimulane told Daily Sun that this time around, they would make sure that he did not flee justice again.
Qolweni (37) is accused of killing his sugar mama Ntombincinci Majozi, a taxi owner from Ivory Park in Joburg, in 2013 when she was 50.
Matimulane said the last time Qolweni escaped was early in 2021 ahead of an appearance in the Tembisa Magistrates Court.
At the time, he was out on bail.
“He was arrested at an informal settlement in Middelpos in Saldanha Bay, Western Cape,” he said.
“Prior to the latest tracing exercise, officers visited his home in the Eastern Cape but they missed him.”
Ivory Park Police Station commander Brigadier David Mbongeni Ngcobo welcomed the arrest and congratulated detectives for working hard to make the arrest.
“We have never forgotten about this murder, a gender-based violence tragedy that caused untold pain to the family. The man has to account for the loss of life,” he said.
Qolweni is expected to appear in the Tembisa Magistrates Court on Friday, 23 September.
