A Harare woman has won a protection order against her ex-husband for stalking and disturbing her peace.
Yemurai Jeche told the Harare Civil Court yesterday that her ex-husband, Blessing Chadambuka, had been stalking her since they separated, and causing a scene each time they met.
“We separated after failing to resolve issues between us.
“But, from there on he uses 0bscene language to insult me, and also threatens me with death.
“At one point he came to my sister’s place, where I am staying, and insulted everyone.
“He also threatened to kidnap my sister’s children,” said Yemurai.
She said Blessing was also in the habit of harassing and assaulting her.
“Can you imagine that at my age I am accompanied to school because I am afraid that he will hurt me since he follows me to school?”
Blessing justified all his actions, claiming that he did it out of love.
“I insult her in the name of love because I still love her.
“I didn’t divorce her, but her sister took her away from me just after the burial of our late child.
“We had been married for four years, but on the day our child was buried, she was then taken to an unknown destination and I only got to see her a few weeks ago,” said Blessing.
He claimed that he was just trying to fix things between them and not stalking her.
