WHEN the woman didn’t say she was in a relationship on her social media accounts, her boyfriend became convinced she was looking for another man.
The jealous lover (34) then insisted she tattoos his name on her back and when she threatened to have it removed, he burnt her with a hot iron!
Although the man was arrested, he was released on bail and the woman (29) from Duduza, Ekurhuleni, is now living in fear that he might return to attack her again.
“He is calling and begging me to drop the case but this time, I want him to learn a lesson,” she said.
The woman told Daily Sun he had assaulted her before, but she dropped those cases.
“This time, he went too far.
“Who knows what he will do next?” she asked.
The woman said the man was controlling. and wanted her to do what he said.
She said: “I’m not allowed to be myself in this relationship.
“He is making a fuss out of me not advertising our relationship, but he has not married me.”
The woman said she had been with the man for 14 years, but he was not willing to change.
“He scarred me and even burnt my face so I wouldn’t be attractive,” she said.
“He needs to work on himself and change.
“Men like him have killed so many women,” because they think they own their partners.”
The woman said she was in hiding after opening a case of assault against him.
Police spokesman Sergeant Harry Manaka confirmed that a case was opened at Duduza Police Station.
He said the suspect was out on bail after he appeared in the Nigel Magistrate Court on 19 October and would be back in court on 1 November.
He said if the woman received any threats, she must inform the investigating officer.
Brian Sithole of the One Strong Voice Foundation said: “We pray for the safety of the victim.”
