A 20-YEAR-OLD man from Bulawayo’s Emganwini suburb appeared before Western Commonage magistrate Jeconia Prince Ncube facing two counts of malicious damage to property and assault.
Ashely Dube pleaded guilty to both counts and was remanded out of custody to 8 December 2022.
Circumstances are that Dube threw stones at the revellers after he was blocked from attending a party that was being held a few metres from his family home.
It is reported that seeing the uninvited guest, Dube, the host of the party Clifford Ncube was not impressed with his gate-crashing and charged at him before pushing him out of the yard.
Dube did not take that kindly as he picked stones and started pelting the revellers and it hit one of them Anele Sibanda on the forehead.
He continued throwing stones at the house and revellers and in the process smashed a windowpane.
The revellers later summoned courage and confronted Dube before he took to his heels but they managed to catch up with him.
They took him to the police station where two counts of malicious damage to property and assault were filed against him.
