SO SAD: Daughter of Zim businessman who was kidnapped in SA keeps trying to open garage door

Businessman Ranga Gova

TODAY, we have launched our BBR (BRING BACK RANGA) campaign.

Businessman Ranga Gova, 35, was kidnapped on November 3, in Centurion, Pretoria, as he drove home, and has not been seen since.

The brazen attack was captured on CCTV.

His wife, Mamelo, said the kidnapping has been really hard on the family.

“It has been extremely hard. It is too much. My daughter goes to the garage and calls for her dad,” Mamelo said.

“He is usually at home. He only spends time away when he is on business trips and that doesn’t usually last for such a long time.

“My daughter doesn’t understand what is going on.

“She keeps going to the garage door and whenever the door opens she thinks it is her dad.

“She keeps trying to open the garage door and goes to the garage to see if her dad is back.”

Well, dad hasn’t been back for 35 days now.

We believe that, as one of the leading newspapers in this country, we have a responsibility to keep casting some light on this case given that Gova is one of us.

This campaign is meant to help raise awareness around this heart-breaking ordeal.

It’s our responsibility to ensure that the world doesn’t forget that there is a young Zimbabwean businessman who was taken captive and has not been seen by his family for more than a month.

Statistics show that between July and September last year, there were more than 2000 kidnapping cases in South Africa.
