THE pain of being abused by her own child has forced a mother to seek the court’s intervention.
Stencia Phiri took her son, Kudakwashe Tembo, to Harare Civil Court, where she applied for a protection order.
She accused him of assaulting her.
“He is into drugs and every time he is under the influence, he beats me up and throws tonts at me.
“He also insults me and steals my property. I am really in pain.

“I am here pleading with the court to assist me because I want to live in peace and not to be abused by a child I gave birth to.”
Tembo was not in court to defend himself.
Magistrate Tamara Chibindi granted the order.
She warned Kudakwashe against assaulting or harassing his mother.
