AN attempt to stop a fight in a bus backfired for an Epworth man who is currently battling for his life after being stabbed four times.
Usavi Takayedza sustained deep cuts on his head and neck when he intervened in an altercation between Peter Tsvaura and other passengers.
Tsvaura appeared in court yesterday charged with attempted murder.
The court heard that Tsvaura had an altercation with some passengers which resulted in a physical fight.
In an attempt to restrain them, Takayedza went between the two parties, which infuriated Tsvaura.
Tsvaura allegedly took out a knife and stabbed Takayedza on the head, neck and left arm.
Takayedza sustained deep cuts and was admitted to hospital.
The police recovered the knife and Tsvaura’s blood-stained clothes, which would be produced in court, as exhibits.
