2 ZDF soldiers in hot soup after robbing 2 bars at gun point


Two members of the elite forces who allegedly went on a one night robbing spree armed with illegally attained AK47 rifles have applied for bail at the High Court.

Timothy Tshuma (33) and brothers Petros (32) and Norest Mubaiwa (29), a civilian are alleged to have robbed two bars in one night.

According to court papers, Tshuma is a member of the Presidential Guard Brigade and Petros is in the One Commando Regiment.

The three are alleged to have robbed two bars in Bindura and Chiweshe on February 17 after threatening their victims with AK47 rifles while using a Toyota Noah as their getaway vehicle.

Prosecutors said on February 17, the three men armed with AK 47 rifles, went to Chingwara Chidzamahosi Bar at Shopo Business Centre in Chiweshe.

The three allegedly broke into the bar and held the shop attendant Portia Muchadakuenda (34) at gun point and demanded cash.
Muchadakuenda is alleged to have escaped into the darkness as the trio allegedly stole cash amounting to $580, cellphones and television sets.

The trio then went to Manyangani Bar in Bindura at around 10pm and ordered revellers to lie on the ground.

The bar attendant Taurai Maorera allegedly resisted the orders, resulting in one of the three robbers firing a shot, forcing Maorera to co-operate and surrender the daily sales which amounted to $123.
