A decomposing body of an unidentified woman was found in a shallow grave at the backyard of a house in Northleach suburb, Montrose in Bulawayo where police have launched investigations into a suspected murder case.
This house number 30 Northleach has become the talk of the town after it was turned into a crime scene overnight when a semi decomposing body was found at the house’s back yard in a suspected murder that could have happened over the festive season.
The body was discovered Wednesday evening and residents are still in shock, trying to come to terms on what could have happened.
When the ZBC News crew arrived at the scene, police were exhuming the body of the deceased woman which was covered by stones, some poles and dagga.
A blue pair of jeans and a grey t-shirt were also discovered dumped in the shallow grave.
The owner of the property Mrs Florence Sebele revealed how her son discovered the body following the scratching of the shallow grave by dogs before they informed police.
The Zimbabwe Republic Police spokesperson Inspector Precious Simango confirmed the incident.
She said they have since launched a murder investigation on the matter.
Inspector Simango said the body of the deceased has since been taken to United Bulawayo Hospital for postmortem.
She also advised people who are missing their relatives to report at Donnington or any nearest police station.
