The ZRP is still cleaning house following the retirement of the now unpopular ex police commissioner-general Augustine Chihuri.
The axe seems to have fallen on several top members of the police force as well, with the top brass being retired with immediate effect.
While the police haven’t released an official statement on the latest developments it is evident the winds of change are blowing.
Below is a statement signed by the acting police commissioner Godwin Matanga informing a member of their immediate retirement.

RETIREMENT FROM THE ZIMBABWE REPUBLIC POLICE IN TERMS OF SECTION 22(3) OF THE POLICE ACT, CHAPTER 11:10
This letter serves to advise you of your retirement from the Zimbabwe Republic Police in terms of section 22 subsection (3) of the Police Act [Chapter 11:101 effective from midnight on the 19th of January 2018.
You will be paid three months’ salary in lieu of three months’ notice of termination of service.
The Acting Commissioner General of Police avails himself this opportunity to sincerely thank you for having diligently served the organisation and the people of Zimbabwe.
