SUPER Bantamweight champion Tinashe ‘Chairman’ Mwadziwane has hailed Prophet Walter Magaya for his prayers before his match on Friday.
He was speaking soon after the win over Malawian boxer Aubrey Masamba, a third round knockout.
“My preparation was okay. I was at the gym the whole time. My coach and manager helped me a lot but I would like to thank Prophet Magaya for the prayers and blessings.
“On Wednesday, Prophet Magaya called and asked if I was done with my training. He prayed for me and told me that I had already won.
“I really thank God for giving me another opportunity to prove that I’m a champion. I showed that I’m the chairman,” he said.
Chairman, a boxer under Delta Force Boxing Academy, said he is now targeting a continental title.
“We are organising with my coach and manager Clied that in April I should go for an African title. I am ready now.
“The support I got from the crowd was overwhelming although I wanted to give them some entertainment. However the punches were too heavy for my opponent and he surrendered in the third round.
“A lot had unfolded a week before the match but I did not let that take my focus,” he said.
