The anticipation of the coming of Nigerian prophet Temitope Balogun Joshua – better known as TB Joshua, to Zimbabwe, this week, has reached new heights amid reports his followers from the region are booking flights and hotels in Harare and Victoria Falls.
The frenzied booking of local hotels and flights is taking place despite the fact that TB Joshua’s itinerary in Zimbabwe has not been released to the public.
In an interview this week the Zimbabwean facilitator Josey Mahachi said her team has been receiving calls from across the region with inquiries with regards to the itinerary.
“We have been receiving calls since the visit was publicized last week,” Mahachi said.
“What is surprising is that we hear hotels in Harare and Victoria Falls have been booked already as TB Joshua’s followers prepare to meet the renowned prophet,” she said.
Mahachi also said she is excited by the visit because it does not only put Zimbabwe on the spotlight but also promotes region religious tourism.
“The tourism industry will be a major beneficiary in all this because the visitors will use our local facilities.”
Mahachi could however not release the itinerary to Khuluma Afrika saying this will be done at a later date.
“Like I said in another media interview Zimbabwe has been remembered,” Mahachi said adding:
“Prophet TB Joshua will be coming to Zimbabwe in a few days from now and I am highly excited about it as it will be his first time to set his foot here.”
“His visit is a courtesy call to his Excellency President Emmerson Mnangagwa. He is not coming to hold a crusade like what is being said on social media.
“Those stealing from people should desist from doing that or the wrath of the law will catch up with them.”
Despite not having a church assembly in Zimbabwe, Prophet TB Joshua has a huge following of Christians who watch him through his television channel, Emmanuel TV.
Many Christian believers around the world, Zimbabwe included, have travelled to his church, Synagogue Church of All Nations for healing and deliverance.
TB Joshua is one of the most sought after preachers in Africa and beyond. He is credited for having boosted religious tourism.
Mahachi is credited for having facilitated the visit of top Nigerian businessman Aliko Dangote.
