President Emmerson Mnangagwa is meeting leaders of churches in Zimbabwe today as the church seeks to entrench the spirit of togetherness through speaking with one voice on issues of national concern.
The meeting is being held at a local hotel in the capital.
The Constitution of Zimbabwe allows for freedom of religion and Christianity is the dominant religion in Zimbabwe.
The Zimbabwe Catholic Bishops Conference, the Zimbabwe Council of Churches which is the umbrella body for all Protestant Churches and a subsidiary of the World Council of Churches and the Evangelical Fellowship of Zimbabwe are the main bodies that represent Christianity in the country.
