The newly formed the National Patriotic Front (NPF) has written to the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) advising of its intentions to contest local, parliamentary and presidential elections.

A letter signed by the President of NPF, Ambrose Mutinhiri was sent to ZEC on 7 March 2018.

“This is to notify you that we, the National Patriotic Front (NPF) are a political party duly established by a constitution adopted by the founders of the Party on 7 December 2017 in accordance with the laws of Zimbabwe.

“It is our intention, and indeed the objective of our Party, to contest local, parliamentary and presidential elections as they may constitutionally occur. In this connection, we avail ourselves, and we would be pleased to be invited, to participate in meetings for political parties which the Commission periodically convenes,” wrote Mutinhiri.
