MDC-T activists in Marondera have embarked on street rallies in high-density suburbs to mobilise support for their party leader and presidential candidate, Nelson Chamisa.
Besides the street rallies, held along feeder roads and at community boreholes, the party is also conducting door-to-door campaigns in the residential areas.
Ward 7 councillor Dominic Matangira said the strategy had received an overwhelming response from residents.
“This is one of our campaign strategies and we are moving from street to street holding meetings. We are urging those who are yet to register to vote to do so. We are also encouraging the electorate to vote for Chamisa. The response of the street meetings by the residents is overwhelming. They are coming out to listen with some even offering stools and benches for people to sit. We started last week and we are in the seventh street in Cherima,” he said.
