Chamisa was announced as taking over from Khupe by the Speaker of Parliament last week. Chamisa’s appointment followed the expulsion from parliament of Khupe who was the Deputy President of the opposition party and leader of the opposition in the august house.

Mufakose MP Paurina Mpariwa was also appointed to replace Khupe in the Committee on standing rules and orders.

“At the same meeting, Hon. Paurina Mpariwa was endorsed as a member of the Committee on Standing Rules and Orders. This followed the expulsion of Dr. Thokozani Khupe from Parliament in April, 2018,” said Mudenda.
