2018 Elections: SADC Observer Mission holds closed door meeting with Zanu PF … Obert Mpofu warns Chamisa

The SADC Electoral Observer Mission held closed door deliberations with Zanu PF representatives on the road to the 2018 harmonised polls.

The SADC Observer Mission Head of delegation who is also Angola’s Deputy Foreign Affairs Minister Mr Tete Antonio said they are meeting stakeholders in line with the requirements set out for observers while Zanu PF said it is confident of a landslide victory.

With 7 days to go before the historic 2018 harmonised elections, Mr Antonio said they are observing the electoral processes.

Zanu PF Secretary for Administration who is also the Minister of Home Affairs, Dr Obert Mpofu said as a party they are fully prepared for the polls and he warned those using inflammatory language and those who will attempt to disturb the smooth running of the polls that the full wrath of the law will visit them.

Addressing party supporters during a rally at Mkoba Stadium, the MDC Alliance presidential candidate and his party’s Youth Secretary Happymore Chidziva maintained being offensive pronouncing unspecified threats towards the country’s election body ZEC.

Chamisa insists they will be no election if his party’s demands are not met.
