HORROR PICS: Durban storm kills 4 so far


THE N2 Highway near Amanzimtoti in KwaZulu Natal, South Africa, experienced flash flooding as rain and gale force winds hit the area on Tuesday morning.

Rescue Care Paramedic Ian Weasels came to the rescue of 3 people who were looking to get to safety place.

The Durban storm comes after a massive storm accompanied by hail wrecked havoc in the west of Joburg on Monday afternoon.

The rain had a bad impact on people’s lives as houses collapsed, trees fell onto roofs and car roofs were ripped off.

An 82 year-old gogo from Emaphupheni in Etwatwa, Daveyton in Ekurhuleni was buried when the roof of her RDP house collapsed and neighbours had to pull her out of the rubble and rush her to hospital.

The death toll from the storm that lashed KwaZulu-Natal on Tuesday has risen to four.

A municipal employee died when a wall collapsed on her during the height of the storm in Durban around midday on Tuesday.

The woman had sought refuge from the wind and rain in an ablution facility at the Berea station when the wall collapsed‚ said Head of Parks‚ Recreation and Culture at the eThekwini Municipality Thembinkosi Ngcobo.
