Constable Wilfred Kapfidze of Beitbridge was last week killed in a road accident when he was a passenger in one of the two Jarax buses that side-swiped at the 98km peg between Harare and Chivhu.
Sources told The Mirror that he was killed on his way back from Harare where he had gone to deliver some work documents. The accident happened on Wednesday last week.
A total of eight people died in the accident, seven died on the spot while one died on admission at Chivhu Hospital. Nine people were seriously injured.
Kapfidze was based at Beitbridge Traffic Police. He was buried at Uravhi Business Centre in Chivi on Saturday.
He leaves behind his wife and two kids.
The accident happened when two busses, both owned by Jarax sideswiped at the 98km peg near Pimbi River Bridge. The bus coming from South Africa had nine passengers and the one coming from Harare had 57 passengers.
Sources said that the one coming from Harare tried to overtake a haulage truck infront of oncoming Jarax and he encroached the other the other lane when he tried to go back to his lane.
