Man rap_es 9 year old girl after he lured her with lollipop

A MAN from Kwekwe has been arraigned before the courts for using a lollipop to lure a nine-year-old juvenile into a room before rap_ing her.

Shelton Dube (18) of Sunside Plot 23 in Kwekwe was remanded in custody to 26 September after he briefly appeared before Gokwe magistrate Mr Musaiona Shortgame facing rap_e charges.

The State led by Ms Edina Munjoma allege that on 7 September this year at Maryville Plots in Kwekwe, Dube in the company of his friend whose name was not mentioned in court, went to the girl’s house. The two who were covering their faces, found the girl alone at home and Dube allegedly produced a lollipop from the pocket.

He gave the young girl the lollipop and lured her into her parents’ bedroom where he rap_ed her. His friend was standing guard at the door armed with a machete.

Dube was, however, arrested the following day after the girl identified him by his tinted hair.

Meanwhile, two Gokwe men broke down a door and forcibly gained entry at a house where they rap_ed a woman.

Milton Matarutse (30) of Dungwa Village under Chief Sayi in Gokwe, appeared before a Gokwe magistrate facing rap_e charges. He was remanded in custody to 26 September for trial.

Allegations are that on 3 September around 3am, a woman was asleep in a bedroom in company of her siblings aged 16 and nine. Matarutse who was with his friend, who is still at large, tip-toed to the bedroom door.

The two then found the door locked but broke it down and forcibly gained entry into the house. They then wrestled with the 16-year-old sister who managed to escape together with her nine-year-old sibling. Matarutse and his accomplice then grabbed the woman and blindfolded her so that she would not see their faces before they dragged her to a nearby gulley. The two then took turns to rap_e her.

The blindfold however, fell, as the two were wrestling the girl and she managed to identify Matarutse. Matarutse produced a knife and threatened to stab her if she told anyone. The matter was reported to the police leading to the arrest of Matarutse.
