Shocking! Woman missing for 4 days found dead in pool of blood under her bed


A 46 year old woman from Tarirwei Village under Chief Marozva who runs Regai Dziveshiri Assembly shop at Sosera Business Centre was found dead in a pool of blood after she went missing four days earlier.

Rosemary Mupuwi’s body was found tucked away under the base of her bed. The Mirror understands that Mupuwi’s boyfriend Tofarasei Zimhunga of Marozva is now admitted at Silveira Mission Hospital under Police guard after he took an overdose of ARVs on Monday.

Acting Police Spokesperson Inspector Kudakwashe Dhehwa confirmed the case and said Police are still investigating.

Mupuwi was staying alone in a three roomed house behind the shop and she was the owner and cashier of Regai Dziveshiri Assembly shop. The Mirror understand that her body was buried on Monday.

Two weeks ago on October 14 at around 1pm Maria Musaneti (54) of Tarirwei village who is a friend to the deceased visited her as she wanted to ask for family planning tablets and Mupuwi told her to come back the following day.

Musaneti went back the following day at 10am and she did not find her, the doors and windows were locked and she left.

On October 18, a neighbour Tambudzai Manga (35) was passing by when she noticed flies around Mupuwi’s bedroom window and she was curious because Mupuwi had not been seen for days.Manga saw that the door was locked from outside, she called Mupuwi’s brother Togarepi Mupuwi (42) of Duma Location at Nyika and Musaneti and informed him about the flies and unpleasant smell from the deceased’s house.

Togarepi and Musaneti then came and broke the window to get inside and noticed clotted blood on the floor and some blood stains on the pillow.He lifted the bed and discovered Mupuwi’s body underneath. A report was made at ZRP Bikita and Police from Bikita together with CID from Zaka attended the scene.

Her body was taken to Masvingo General Hospital for post mortem.
