JAH Prayzah has emerged victorious in another video popularity battle with leading Zim Dancehall star, Winky D after they both released their new offerings to the public.
While Jah Prayzah had long advertised November 2 as the day for the un- veiling of his Chitubu album, Winky D came in at the last minute and unveiled his video for the single, Paperbag on the eve of the former’s event at HICC.
Social media went into overdrive suggesting that Winky D’s move was calculated to spoil Jah Prayzah’s project.
While Winky D’s camp said the timing of their video release was determined by Trace Africa, a DStv platform where it was premièred, his fans seemed to agree that it was a showdown with Jah Prayzah in a popularity contest.
As is the norm, Jah Prayzah produces at least a video for every album and this time he did one for the track Dzamutsana, which has turned out to be an early favourite with his fans.
Winky D’s Paperbag was published on YouTube on Friday morning as it premièred on Trace Africa while Dzamutsana went on YouTube at least 24 hours later.
However, Dzamutsana beat Paperbag to the 100 000-views mark with Winky D’s project yet to reach six digits as at 7pm last night while Dzamutsana had already reached 155 000 views by then, a 60 000+ advantage two days after publication.
