A FAMILY from Silobela has been plunged into mourning following the mysterious death of one of its members a day after a human head was discovered at their homestead.
Things got terrible for the Mguqukas who were still trying to come to terms with a human head that was discovered at their homestead a day earlier, when one of theirs just died under mysterious circumstances. Midlands Police Spokesperson, Inspector Joel Goko confirmed that indeed a human head was picked up at the family’s homestead.
“Police in Silobela are still carrying out investigations pertaining a human head that was discovered at one homestead in the area. We will be able to unveil more information after the conclusion of investigations,” he said.
A source close to the happenings however, revealed that soon after police left with the decapitated head, one of the members died mysteriously.
“There is a funeral as we speak. One of their members just died after the police left with the head which was just discovered at the homestead. We suspect there is some black magic going on,” said the source.
Paramount Chief Suprene Malisa confirmed the mysterious death of one of the family members whose name could not be established.
“We are still to come to terms with what happened in the area. I am sure police are carrying out investigations and they should be able to give us more information. It’s very rare for a human head to be picked up just like that,” said Chief Malisa. Silobela legislator, Hon Mthokozisi Manoki Mpofu said cases of murder were reaching alarming levels in his constituency, a major cause for concern.
“We have a murder case almost on a daily basis so this human head could be from one of those many murder cases.
But we should give police its jurisdiction to conduct their job. The murder cases in the constituency are worrying,” he said.
He said he had received information about the death of a family member but said he did not have finer details of what could have transpired.
