The Zimbabwe Lawyers for Human Rights (ZLHR) says that the leader of Ideal Zimbabwe party, Tinashe Jonas will on Tuesday spend the second night in police cells.

Jonas was arrested on Monday and charged with two counts of undermining the authority of or insulting President Emmerson Mnangagwa during a televised programme broadcast with a South African news channel.

In a statement issued on Tuesday evening, ZLHR said:

"Tinashe Jonas, the leader of Ideal Zimbabwe political party will spend his second night in Zimbabwe Republic Police cells after he was arrested on Monday and charged with two counts of undermining the authority of or insulting President Emmerson Mnangagwa during a televised programme broadcast SA news channel."
