LATEST: Gokwe man plots evil against MDC Alliance President Nelson Chamisa

A Gokwe man Ashley Mutungure has dragged the MDC Alliance led by Nelson Chamisa to court challenging the acting presidency of Chamisa, the Zim Morning Post has learnt.

The matter will be heard this morning (Thursday) by High Court judge Justice Mushore.

Mutungure is praying for an order to bar Chamisa from representing the MDC-A in any capacity, to stop him from interfering with party structures and for the secretary general to call for an extraordinary congress.

Chamisa was appointed acting president by the National Executive Council on February 15 2018 after the death of Morgan Tsvangirai who succumbed to cancer of the colony on February 14 2018.

His appointment triggered a split and break away of Thokozani Khupe. Khupe went on to perform badly in 2018 elections.

The MDC-A will hold an elective congress in May where it is expected to elect a substantive president.

Efforts to get a comment from MDC spokesperson Jacob Mafume proved fruitless as his mobile phone went unanswered on Thursday.
