Thomas Chisadza of Chirumanzu who was recently elevated from a village head to Headman Chisadza is no more.
Chisadza who was riding a motorbike was killed in an accident when Shinei Gwasira who is said to be wife to Police Officer Commanding Mash East Province Commissioner Erasmus Makodza allegedly hit him from behind as he turned along Masvingo – Harare Highway.
Midlands Police spokesperson Ethel Mukwende said she was not aware of the accident.
The accident happened about 10 kilometres from Mvuma town along Mvuma-Chivhu Highway.
Chisadza who was also a war veteran served as a councillor for Ward 20 in Chirumanzi for more than 20 years.
Sources told The Mirror that at around 8pm on Friday, Chisadza was riding his motorbike along the Harare-Masvingo Highway.
When he approached Moffat, about 10 kilometres from Mvuma town, he stopped, intending to turn off the highway to his right. He wanted to go home, a few meters from where the accident occurred.
Chisadza’s predecessor, headman Chigabe also died in a traffic accident in 2016 at Mavise, a few kilometers from where Chisadza died.
