There was chaos at Makombe building in Harare, on Tuesday afternoon after a thief allegedly smeared the place with human waste in a bid to avoid arrest.
36-year-old David Nyavedze was caught whilst trying to fish a wallet from a police woman’s hand bag at Makombe Building, the police woman was identified as Christine Kunenyati.
Nyavedze caused tumult after he splashed poop to disperse people who wanted to mete instant justice on him after he was caught, but was apprehended and arrested.
The H-Metro reports that passport applicants and registration officials rushed to Room 77, where he had been taken for questioning, demanding instant justice.
”He must be beaten before being led to a police station because he has smeared the whole place with his poop,” one person from the mob was heard shouting.
In an interview with the paper, Nyavedze said that the faeces protected him and made him immune to detection after committing a crime. He went on to produce more poop from his underwear.
”Zvinhu zvakaoma hama yangu, usandinyorewo mupepa ndingatokupa zvangu $50 bond worega kundibudisa nekuti ndopandoraramawo napo,” Nyavedze said whilst holding faeces wrapped in a Khaki paper.
Nyavedze also added that ”this is my poop and I can go with you to the toilet and show you more on my underwear. It protects me from being caught and I do not know why I failed to succeed on this officer. This is my source of living brother. I come from Madziva and I am currently staying in Epworth. Please spare me and I will reason with the officer and give her ka-$10 bond ondisiya hake.”
