Opposition Movement for Democratic Change (MDC) President Nelson Chamisa has maintained that his demands for national dialogue still stand contrary to reports that the 41 year old former ICT minister had agreed to lay down his dialogue provisos leaving Zanu PF significant figures hanging over the moon.

One of Chamisa’s key demand is for the national dialogue to revisit the July 2018 elections which he claimed he won.

“We have a very simple promise, our promise is our readiness to dialogue for the benefit of the people of Zimbabwe. We are not ready to compromise from that promise. But of course I have seen that (reports) saying Mr Chamisa has climbed down, MDC has climbed down. We have not climbed up. We have always said let there be a genuine dialogue, authentic dialogue based on issues that are affecting the people of Zimbabwe.

“Not these kind rallies where you see Mr Mnangagwa pulling with people whom he agree with. Dialogue is for people who are not in agreement. We do not agree with Mr Mnangagwa on issues that were dealt with at the constitutional court. Determined legally but politically it still have to be resolved,” said Chamisa.

Mnangagwa called for dialogue mid-January on the back of the popular stay away protest that brought the country to a halt with security forces unleashed on civilians allegedly leaving a trail of blood shed.

The January shut down protests turned nasty as some protesters turned violent barricading roads, burning property and looting retail shops.

The state’s heavy handedness response to protests was widely condemned as it resulted in the death of many people while others were injured and raped.

Chamisa further torn into Ugandan President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni whom President Mnangagwa has invited to officiate at the 60th edition of Zimbabwe International Trade Fair (ZITF) in Bulawayo this week.

He described Museveni’s visit to Zimbabwe as a confirmation that Mnangagwa is in the club of dictators with latest information in the latter’s back yard confirming that popular musician and opposition leader Bob Wine has been put under house arrest.
