Serious Drama: Woman refuses to release boyfriend's underwear after being dumped, demands R10 000

Prominent Rutenga businessman, Goodman Maburuse’s marriage is on the rocks because of a nagging girlfriend based in Beitbridge who says she will not release his undergarments unless he gives her R10 000.

Mwenezi magistrate Mandhlenkosi Ndlovu heard the case on Thursday last week and ordered Patricia Shumba to stop seeing or visiting Maburuse following a successful application for a peace order.

Maburuse who runs Linger Longer Bottle Store at Rutenga sought a peace order against Shumba on the grounds that she was harassing his wife and workers at the bottle store. She was also going around introducing herself to his relatives as his wife.

Shumba however, retorted back and said she gave Maburuse R10 000 and a cellphone which she wanted back. She told magistrate Ndlovu that she was not going to return Shumba’s undergarments unless he gives her the R10 000.

“Right now I have his undergarments and clothes at my home in Beitbridge. I want to officially release these to him but I can only do that if he gives me my R10 000 and cellphone. But I can only do that if he gives me my R10 000 and cellphone. He must act on this issue since he is the one who has reported me to court,’’ said Shumba.

Shumba said she was in a business partnership with Maburuse and was actually surprised at the court action since she gave Maburuse R10 000 for business. She said she gave him a phone as her boyfriend.

She said when they had a misunderstanding she asked for her money back but the discussion did not end well.
