A BULAWAYO married woman was left seething with anger after her HIV status was ‘publicly revealed by a woman who is allegedly dating her husband.
So brazen were the small house’s utterances that she called Thubelihle Mlotshwa’s husband “a dead man walking” in the presence of neighbours who had gathered to break up a fight between the two women.
Purpose Shumba is the alleged small house who is romantically involved with a married man, Irvine Mranyaho.
It’s said that on the day in question, at the Bulawayo Westgate Compound, husband and wife – Mranyaho and Mlotshwa – were relaxing enjoying good time at home when Shumba stormed into their house.
Shumba confronted Mlotshwa accusing her of spreading lies that she was a home wrecker who was sleeping with Mranyaho.
A fight broke out between the two women.
Appearing at the Bulawayo magistrates court, Mlotshwa said she was deeply hurt by Shumba’s utterances.
“I’m deeply hurt by Purpose’s insults. She said that I’m HIV positive and that she would not waste her time with my husband since I’m taking ARVs (antiretroviral drugs). Your worship she was shouting at the top of her voice, in front of members of the community that had gathered at my house,” said Mlotshwa.
After the intervention of the neighbours, Shumba left Mlotshwa’s house only to return a few hours later with her sister, Tafadzwa.
One of the sisters allegedly called Mlotshwa’s husband a “dead man walking” and the three ladies again engaged in another fist fight.
Answering to assault charges, the two sisters denied laying their hands on Mlotshwa who alleged that her left arm was injured during the brawl.
“I didn’t say such words, what I know is that she was accusing me of sleeping with her husband.
“She is also lying that we beat her up Your Worship,” said Shumba.
Magistrate Ulukile Mlea-Ndlovu remanded the sisters out of custody to next week.
