Electricity Situation: ZESA announces BAD NEWS to Zimbabweans

National power utility, ZESA has announced that the power situation in the country has moved to another level again due to a technical fault at Hwange Thermal Power Station.

As a result of the fault, ZESA is now warning that load shedding is being moved from stage 1 to stage 2. In an advisory on social media, the power utility said,

Due to a technical fault at Hwange Power Station, local generation is now depressed, & load shedding is now being implemented at Stage 2. Customers will be advised on restoration progress. Load shedding is now being implemented outside the published schedule.

However, the post was met with shock by most social media users who argued that they are already experiencing stage 2 load shedding due to the extended power cuts they have been experiencing already.

Stage 1 Load Shedding is supposed to last for up to 8 hours while stage 2 load shedding can last up to 19 hours.
