Celebrations as Mnangagwa’s Zanu PF bashes Chamisa’s MDC by a huge margin in Bikita by-election

Thomas Mataga of the ruling Zanu PF party has romped to victory in the Bikita East ward 31 by-election held yesterday (Saturday), beating fierce rival MDC candidate by a huge margin.

The MDC was being represented by its Bikita district chairperson Moses Maphosa.

The Bikita East Constituency Ward 31 by-election results from all the six polling stations are as follows:
ZANU PF – 1112
MDC – 410
NCA – 23

Voting ended at 7pm and both the MDC and Zanu PF had polling agents.

A total of 1551 votes were cast. There were 16 spoiled votes, according to the Zimbabwe Elections Support Network (ZESN).

The by-election was to fill the council seat left vacant following the death of Zanu PF councillor Patrick Marozhe on April 15 this year.
