Norton Member of Parliament Temba Mliswa has pleaded for protection from Parliament claiming he was threatened by husband to the Public Service, Labour and Social Welfare Minister Sekai Nzenza.
Mliswa claimed he received a message from Nzenza’s husband Adam Shand who described him as sexist following his statement that alleged the Minister was in hiding as officials from the Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission were after her.
However, it later turned out that Mliswa’s claims were false after Nzenza called for a press conference on Monday to clear the air.
“I want this to be recorded. I received a text message from someone who said I should call him. I asked who that person was and he said he was Adam Shand. He started attacking me and he threatened me,” Mliswa said adding the man introduced himself as Nzenza’s husband.
“I was threatened by her husband and called me names. I am saying this because I want it recorded and l want to be protected,” Mliswa said.
Mliswa over the weekend claimed Nzenza was on the run after it emerged she also received the NSSA loot to cover for Tourism Minister Prisca Mupfumira.
He alleged Mupfumira bought a house for Nzenza in Capetown, South Africa.
Mupfumira is in remand prison after her arrest last week on criminal abuse of office charges.
