Clifford Mutero (35), believed to be one of the main sources of illicit drugs in Zvishavane was recently nabbed by the Police and he and his wife Rivert Mahati (29) had to pay $150 to win back their temporary freedom.
The couple was allegedly caught at around 1am on July 25 by the Police soon after taking delivery of various assortments of drugs at their Maglass home in Zvishavane. The drugs included 35kg of mbanje, broncleer cough syrups, maragado and drums of fuel.
The matter was brought before Archie Wochiunga at Zvishavane Magistrate courts last week.
It is the State case that the couple was searched by Police who had followed the man who had gone to deliver the drugs at their home from Harare.
Soon after the drugs were delivered the Police pounced and found the consignment.
