AN infant was on Monday morning found dumped in Sakubva River, in an incident that left residents in the sprawling high-density suburb of Sakubva shell shocked.
The lifeless body was found floating in the river on Monday around 10 am.
Police said they were yet to ascertain further details, particularly the mother of the child. Eye witnesses told The Manica Post that the body was found floating in the river Monday morning.
“I was heading to where I stay in St Joseph’s when I saw the body floating in the river. We were shocked and in a few minutes people were gathered jostling to see it. We have no idea who the mother of the infant is but we were all shocked,” said one eye witness.
Police arrived at the scene and covered the infant with a plastic wrapper.
