A 39-year-old man from New Luveve in Bulawayo stayed with his two girlfriends in a single room for a month culminating in accusations of theft by one of the girlfriends.
Christopher Garepi teamed up with one of his girlfriends, Treg Ncube (33) to drag Mary Munyani (34) to court for allegedly stealing black pants, a T-shirt and groceries from their abode.
Garepi reportedly stayed with his two girlfriends in one room and allegations are that sometime in September Munyani took advantage because there was no one in their room and went on to steal Garepi’s black pants and T- shirt.
“She took advantage of the door which was not locked and our absence and stole my black pant and t-shirt. She then hid them in her handbag,” said Garepi.
Munyani allegedly stole Ncube’s groceries the following morning.
“We slept together with Munyani in our room.
The following morning I went to the shop and Munyani took advantage to steal my groceries,” said Ncube.
“The grocery that was stolen includes rice, flour, sugar and also my pants,” said Ncube.
Munyani pleaded guilty to the first count of stealing Garepi’s pants and not guilty to the second count of stealing Ncube’s groceries before magistrate Urgent Vundla at Western Commonage Court.
She told the court that they were both Garepi’s girlfriends and all stayed together for one month in one room. Munyani said that she left the house and was later accused of stealing.
“I did not commit the second offence. She is lying because she wants me to go to prison so that she remains with Garepi as his wife,” said Munyani.
The trial continues.
