JUST IN: Mnangagwa breaks tradition during politburo meeting as General Constantino Chiwenga returns


President Emmerson Mnangagwa has broken tradition addressing the 334th Zanu PF politburo at the beginning of deliberations in the capital this morning.

He began by welcoming the Vice President and Second Secretary of Zanu PF, Retired General Constantino Chiwenga who was attending his first politburo meeting since his return from China where he was receiving treatment for about four months.

The President said Zanu PF is ready for the People’s conference to be held in Goromonzi next week highlighting that everything is going according to plan.

He said his interface with various communities around the country has given him an informed view that Zimbabweans have common interests that unite them.

President Mnangagwa thanked China, paying special tribute to the Chinese President for the medical assistance given to Vice President Chiwenga.
